Chennai Super Kings (CSK) wrapped up their IPL 2025 campaign in style, crushing Gujarat Titans (GT) by 83 runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium on May 25. Though out of playoff contention, CSK played for pride—and delivered a commanding performance.
Batting Brilliance from Conway and Brevis
After being put in to bat, CSK got off to a flying start, thanks to fifties from Devon Conway (52) and Dewald Brevis (57). The duo set the tone for a mammoth total as CSK posted 230/5 in their 20 overs. Their aggressive stroke play left the GT bowlers scrambling for answers.
Kamboj, Jadeja Shine with the Ball
Defending a steep target, CSK’s bowlers showed no mercy. Anshul Kamboj starred with figures of 3 wickets, while Noor Ahmad also picked up 3 crucial scalps. Ravindra Jadeja chipped in with 2 wickets as GT’s batting lineup crumbled to 147 all out.
Despite the result, GT retained the top position on the points table with 18 points. CSK, on the other hand, ended the season at the bottom with just 8 points. However, the defeat has thrown GT’s chances of a top-two finish into uncertainty as the playoffs approach.
